I would like to make a feature request for a KuCoin broker extension. It is the only cryptocurrency application that I have found with straightforward support for creating short positions. This opens up so many new possibilities for crypto strategy design in WL7.

I think as certain "meme" cryptocurrencies start tanking in the near future, there will be a huge increase in demand from investors to start shorting non-viable "joke" projects, and it would be great to be able to capitalize on this with WL7.

Can't you already short cryptos with Binance and Kraken extensions??

Kraken requires US residents to certify that they have 10 million USD in discretionary investments before they will allow you to use margin for creating a short position.

I didn't realize the Binance extension beta was available, I will check it out!

EDIT: It seems that shorting on Binance relies on margin and/or futures, neither of which are supported in the US version of the WL7 broker extension yet.

They’re not supported by Binance US itself.

Now that BTCUSD has fallen from a high of $67k to $38k, is this still time to consider this broker provider? Is there still more room to go south? :)

Absolutely! BTC history shows plenty of 50 to 90% drawdowns.

I would still absolutely love to see it, and I use KuCoin daily. Though I'm sad to see none of my other fellow WL7 peers seem to have shown any interest thus far.

KuCoin development is going well, we have historical and streaming data going, and about to start work on the broker interface. I just hope KuCoin survives in time for us to release this extension :D

With the way things have been going with other exchanges, I know what you mean! Still, I'm very excited to try it out!

Are you interested in trading the Spot market, or Futures? Futures support will require a bit more work.

I would love to be able to trade Futures, for the easy access to shorting and leverage. But if Futures is considerably more difficult to support than Spot, I would still be satisfied with just Spot support.

OK, we'll start with Spot and add Futures in a later release of the extension.

Update: Spot trading is working well, Kucoin doesn't return a fill price so we're having to reverse engineer it from the change in asset balances before and after the fill. The only thing left to do is Margin trading, we're going to try and automatically "borrow" the asset for a short entry and then automatically "pay back" the borrowed asset on a cover. It's very interesting that Kucoin lets you do this with their API!

Thanks again for creating this extension, I've been using it all the time since release.

Is there any possibility you might be able to add Futures support for the next release version of the KuCoin extension?
