After installing build43, WL7, after several attempts, WL7 would not open. It started to load, but then failed - without any messages at all. I went back to build41, which loaded as usual and seems to work.

Please read the Change Log before installing a build as it may contain important instructions:

https://www.wealth-lab.com/Software/ChangeLog

So far this is 3rd topic on this subject, closing it:

Your answer “ Please read the Change Log before installing a build as it may contain important instructions” was not at all helpful. The change log for build43 says:

“Build: 43 Released: 12/22/2021 Fixed a bug in the previous build that caused mismatching between Building Block Exit and Entry Blocks.”

What I think you should have said was to install new extensions prior to installing the new build. But I have never needed to do that when installing previous new builds and so had no reason to believe that build43 was different.

The breaking change took place in B42.

Yes, this is what those posts say. You updated from a build before B42 but it applies to any of them.

Hey ell7123, apologies for the inconvienence, please try updating the DataExtensions Extension before opening WL7 and see if that resolves the issue for you.

The “breaking change” in change log to build42 says “Please update any installed installations while you are updating to Build 42 to ensure smooth operation.”

First, I did not understand that “installed installations” was intended to mean previously installed Extensions.

Second, “while you are updating to Build42” does not clearly express the need to install the new Extensions prior to installing the new build. You work on this all day, every day so what is clear to you may not be as clear to the rest of us.

Good feedback, we will clean up the language there to make it clearer.
