After purchasing an equity, I would like to use WL Rules (I am not a programmer) to determine an optimum SMA (or other indicator), based upon past data, to use as a future Exit signal. I know how to use the Optimize feature; however, my problem is that when using WL Rules there are both Entry and Exit conditions, whereas I already own the equity. Is there a Rule-based technique that I can use to determine an optimum "Sell" SMA (or other indicator) without having to first invoke a Buy condition? Ideally, it would work something like this: Purchase an equity at Market 3-months ago (or 1-year, or whatever period I want to evaluate); what would have been the optimum SMA during that time period with which to have sold it (or possibly, continue to hold it)?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Of course you can't exit w/o having entered first.

What about adding this rule to your SMA exit?

"Position-Based" -> "Current open Position is older than a number of days"
