After I click the generated signal, it goes nowhere. Can you please link signals to strategy window with chart? In addition, I can't open the strategy from strategy monitoring window. I think older version wealthlab pro 6 has the features. Can you provide the features in the new version?

After the SM has generated a signal with Auto-Stage/Place enabled, it goes straight to the Order Manager. You can see it there in an order block.

Since you drag and dropped the strategy from the Strategies tree, you can just open it from there if need be.

Can you please provide the link to directly go to the strategy from strategy monitoring? It will save a lot of time. I think you can can do it from the wealthlab 6. Why is this feature removed in 7?

Technically, nothing is "removed" from WL7 - it's a new platform rewritten from scratch under a new framework.

But you're right, there was such option in WL6 where you could right click a strategy and open it in a new window. Just a convenience feature but I'm trying to understand why it would save a lot of time for you? You can simply open the strategy window, the SM is a different workflow.

Let me help you understand why some features seem to be “removed” in WL7.

When I left Fidelity, I started a brand new software product called Quantacula Studio, completely from scratch. Later on, Fidelity retired WLP and allowed us to continue developing WL on our own. So we used QS as the basis for the new WL7.

there are two convenient features:
1)click the signal to go the the chart /strategy to check the quality of the signal
2)right click the strategy to open the strategy.

Think about it. if I have 100 signals, if I have to open the strategy, set the symbol and timeframe to see the chart, that is a lot of work :(. I would prefer click the signal to see the chart /strategy right away. I hope you would restore those two convenient features (they are so useful )to offer your clients as a new year's gift :)

I have complained to the fidelity! They retired WL without providing an alternative :(

I have tried other platforms such as quantconect, trade station, wealthlab is the best , very productive. strategy ranking is my favorite. I am a software engineer as well. I hope to help you platform even better:)

No worries, it's a reasonable request and we should get to it in due course. But don't forget to vote for ("thumbs up") your own request!

thanks a lot. if you only put the convenient link in one place, I would recommend to put the link in order manager. Strategy monitoring is an extra place to have it as well.

Right, for discretionary trading it'd be way easier to simply open the Strategy window and browse the signals on the chart then. The SM > OM workflow's main focus is to make (semi)automated trading more productive.

Added a right click option to "Open this strategy in a new Strategy window" to B44.

I do not seem to find this feature available for strategies held in my Strategy Monitor in Build 44.

I don't see it either. Can you please add the convenient features just like WL6, click the signal, then open the chart to check the quality of the signal

I'm sorry for the confusion: coming up in B45, not B44. The strategy window will open with the data range and position sizing settings applied to it:

This is not on the table but B45 will let you open the strategy with the actual settings and "Run Backtest" to get the signals.

I saw this convenience feature in build 45. Thanks! How about the other convenient feature in WL 6 that click the signal , lead to the chart?

This has never been on the radar. The idea is that using this convenience feature from B45 you run the strategy once and get all the signals which you can then review on the chart. Two features at the price of one.

How about the other convenient feature in WL 6 that click the signal , lead to the chart? This convenient feature in WL6 is very helpful. Would you consider to add it back to WL7? Think about if I have 10 signals every day, I need to open strategy and back test and then click to see the chart. It is a lot of work.

Of course we would consider it. Is it already a #FeatureRequest?

I just answered it in Post #16 and you're asking about the same thing over and over?

You're not being serious. What we implemented takes just a click to open the Strategy window plus a couple seconds to Run Backtest to get all those 10 signals ready. What you're proposing means you'll do ten times more work to view them individually. What's the point?

I just gave you the example as 10. think about it, I could have 100 signals from 50 strategies. It could be even more considering different time frames. Doing it everyday to open each strategy is very tedious. I can't use the signals until this convenience feature is released. This feature is supported in WL6. Your wl6 customers are likely disappointed to find this convenience feature is not supported in WL7.

Then those users could vote for the feature, causing it to lift up higher in the wish list. But, it looks like a majority of users are voting for new features like the strategy evolver rather than convenience features. Why should we focus on development of things that fewer users have expressed an interest in?

We are not focused on copying WL6 in every aspect and so far it seems that most of our customers are satisfied with the current design. If you have that many strategies that you absolutely must open, why not save them in a separate Workspace?
