Hello,
just for better understanding. In the Apple chart, I've added a 30-day SMA by drag and drop. In Building Blocks, it appears as shown in the image. The same thing. Right?

I'm not sure I understand your question. But I see nothing wrong with the posted image; it looks right to me. Why are you questioning its validity?

Yeah @superticker, it'd be awesome if posters spoke clearly from the start rather than speak in puzzles and start from afar. 😃

Damir, let me guess. Do you wonder why there were no entries during Aug/Oct 2023?

No, I wanted to construct the same trading rule (Building Blocks) as the simple drag & drop Apple Chart with the SMA (30).

When you drag and drop an indicator into the chart, a trading rule is not automatically constructed. I then tried to replicate this with the Building Blocks. That should fit. Is it clearer now?

Perhaps one option would be to automatically create the trading rule (Building Block) when dragging and dropping into the chart.

If that were the case then you'd still have to choose from n number of entry blocks or x number of exit blocks and then choose from any number of applicable conditions for the chosen indicator. Plus, there is the possibility that you wouldn't want to create a new block, but use an existing block. That would be cumbersome.

By your question, and I could be wrong, I get the impression you're not understanding some conditions. Get a better understanding of the conditions and then your original question is answered.

Yes, because it makes zero sense to do so.

But when you drag a BLOCK onto a Chart, WL will propose create a new BB Strategy for you.

Creating a trading rule from an indicator dropped on the chart is an interesting workflow idea but not one that WL8 currently supports.

You can drag and drop an indicator on a signal block (Buy, Sell, Short, Cover) and it will guide to select a Condition block for the indicator.

I'm sure it would make sense, but I can live with it.

Thank you to everyone, there were still a few interesting pointers.

It would be horrible to have to suppress a helpful prompt asking whether you want to create a BB Strategy with that indicator... when all you want is just to drag and drop a bunch of indicators to play with them!

Such behavior would annoy the majority and naturally require another option to disable it. And when there's an option, there will be support issues from those who have suppressed it by accident etc.
