It would be useful to have WealthLab providing an option for better recovery in case of crash by:
1. Periodically saving all unsaved strategies or strategies with unsaved changes in a separate folder and providing users with ability to open any individual one in a similar way a Word or Excel do.

2. Periodically saving a current workspace and providing users with an ability to open last saved workspace in a way similar to how Chrome offers to restore last session.

While this request still cannot get enough following, this ability may already apply to unsaved code-based strategies IF they're developed in an external IDE/editor e.g. VS Code (File > Auto-Save) or Notepad++ (Preferences > 'Enable session snapshot and periodic backup'). In such case, periodic backup is outsourced to the external editor. All you have to do is 'Link the source code to an external .CS file' in WL8.

To support auto-backup for other strategy types (Meta, Rotation, Blocks) one would have to resort to File Version History in Windows 10/11, or Dropbox etc.
