Thanks. I suspect Alpaca updated their backend with the new FINRA Day Trader rules.

You'd be correct.

There isn't a new .NET solution for Alpaca.Markets yet, but Glitch is testing a work-around for it.

I just received this notification email from Alpaca. I don't know if this is helpful but let me know if you want me to unpack any links that are in the email but didn't make it here..

Hi there,

We have fully deprecated the Pattern Day Trader fields and removed them from the API response in accordance with the new intraday margin framework.

What You Need to Do
If you use the API directly: Audit your integration for references to pattern_day_trader, daytrade_count, last_daytrade_count, daytrading_buying_power, or last_daytrading_buying_power fields as they have been fully deprecated. Replace these with buying_power. You can see the full list of removed endpoints in our changelog.

If you trade through the Alpaca Dashboard: No action is required.

What Is The New Intraday Margin Framework?
On June 4, 2026, FINRA replaced the current Pattern Day Trader (PDT) provisions with the intraday margin framework.

Here is what’s changed under the new rules:

The Pattern Day Trader Designation: Your account is no longer classified as a PDT regardless of how many day trades you make.
Intraday Margin Calls: If your positions exceed your available intraday margin, you will receive a margin call. If you repeatedly fail to meet intraday margin calls within five business days, your account may be restricted for up to 90 calendar days.
Pre-Trade Checks: Orders that would put your account into a margin deficit are now rejected, helping prevent overextension in real time.
Intraday Buying Power: Replacing the Day Trade Buying Power, this is a running calculation of your available margin for intraday positions, updated throughout the trading day based on your equity, positions, and intraday profit and loss.
Increased Buying Power Availability: For leverage-enabled accounts, the minimum equity requirement for 4x intraday buying power has been lowered from $25,000 to $2,000.
FDIC Sweep Program Limitations: Users previously ineligible for the FDIC Sweep Program due to PDT status are now able to enroll in Alpaca’s High-Yield Cash program.
