I tried to create a new DataSet, with a symbol with data from 1976 onwards. This symbol did not load at all, only after truncating the 1976- 1990 bars. Is there a limit we should be aware of?

I have sent you the data.

I will look into the data you've sent w.r.t. VFINX problem.

Based on your screenshot in email, the data seems to be sourced from Tiingo. If this is true, have you tried using the dedicated provider?

@Glitch
I forgot to mention that this is EOD data.

@Eugene
Thank you for the hint, but I'd like to use the ASCII provider for various reasons.

Culprit: your ASCII data is faulty. Not "our" (ASCII provider's) bad.

The data starts as monthly:

QUOTE:
,close,high,low,open,volume,adjClose,adjHigh,adjLow,adjOpen,adjVolume,divCash,splitFactor
1976-08-31,14.14,14.14,14.14,14.14,0,4.6216872546,4.6216872546,4.6216872546,4.6216872546,0,0.0,1.0
1976-09-30,14.48,14.48,14.48,14.48,0,4.7328169339,4.7328169339,4.7328169339,4.7328169339,0,0.0,1.0
1976-10-29,14.18,14.18,14.18,14.18,0,4.6347613345,4.6347613345,4.6347613345,4.6347613345,0,0.0,1.0

...But ends up being Daily:

QUOTE:

2021-09-03,419.65,419.65,419.65,419.65,0,419.65,419.65,419.65,419.65,0,0.0,1.0

It's your call but the Tiingo provider returns VFINX data starting from Sep 1976.

Unlike ASCII, the Tiingo provider does not have to apply its smart guesswork and marks the file as Daily straight off - letting you see the entire data including those partial monthly bars in the beginning.
