I have been using stooq to get historical data in the last few years. It stopped working. The last data update I got is 03/24/2026. I do not know what is wrong. I also would like to know where to get the historical data for US major indexes such as ^SPX, ^NDX, ^NDQ, etc. Any help is high appreciated.

It may be more than you're looking for, but Norgate is the best/fastest/most-reliable EOD provider for stocks, indices, futures, etc., updated automatically every day by the Norgate Updater. It's really quite amazing.
But if you're just after those major indices, Q-Data has of few of them: $DJI, $SPX, $NDX, $COMP, and $VIX
