For 2 days Cryptocompare has not been providing historical data.
I had queried a few more coins than were in the default list.
Here is the message:
"historical date pre-emptively ended"
What exactly is there in the agreement between WL and CyCo. Did I possibly only receive the data for a few days free of charge?

No, it's providing data. BTC.USD from CC works just fine even without an API key. What symbols and bar scale are you requesting?
BTC.EUR daily
It worked until 16 Februare
BTC.EUR as sole sybol works, in portolio unfortunately not

CC supports only Daily and 60-Minute bars.

My problem is that the error message comes as an exit signal. I only trade daily.

Hello, the problem has been solved overnight. Probably the data from CrCo was problematic. When loading the data directly from an exchange, there was no problem either. So it had to be due to CrCo. Why I do not know. For 75$ per month you can expect more. Does anyone have longer experience with CrCo? Is it a good solution for crypto-data?
Hello,
I have again the problem with the data and calculations in crypto.
It is shown as exit signal.
"historical date pre-emptively ended"
is displayed and all cryptos should be sold. Sometimes the problem resolves during the day.
How am I supposed to generate signals like this if they are not reliable until the next day.
Another problem is that a signal I traded a week ago has disappeared.
Can I still trust the backtests then?
I ask for help.

Yes you can. This only indicates an issue with ("unstable") indicators used in conjunction with an inappropriately short data range chosen or the strategy's programming bug (if it's coded). But if you wish to discuss this let's continue in a new topic.
1. Since you focus on cryptos, move Cryptocompare on top of the list of providers. When you highlight the DataSet you backtest on in the Data Manager, what does the Source column show? I mean, are there symbols that do not belong to Cryptocompare? Although BTC.EUR cannot be found in neither WD, QD nor Yahoo but there may be other symbols in your DataSet.
2. What about backtesting with other cryptocurrency data providers, have you tried that and what are the results?
The more details you can provide the better our troubleshooting would be.

Hello,
1. I work with stocks and cryptocurrencies
2. I have put Cryptocompare in the first position
3. in the dataset it says Cryptocompare as source in the right column.
4. I get a chart, so the symbols must match
5. With Kraken everything works fine at the moment, but I had the same problem once, but only one day.
6. With Binance I have problems for the first time today. But this seems to be something else.
7. the exit signal is still there today, although the courses are now complete. How do I know if this is a real exit or just because of the data?
8. I have also contacted Cryptocompare directly. They wrote me a lot of things that I do not understand. After all, I can not set anything at WL, only enter my API code

Looks like updates for some symbols are still coming through until today while the rest is stuck. Since you mentioned "free of charge" in the top post, could it be that your Cryptocompare account may be rate limited?
Hello,
here is the correspondence with Crytocompare.
They write that I am not using my API properly.
I can't influence that, because the WL does it in the background.
I only have the possibility to enter the API

Hello,
In addition to the previous msg please note that you are still not using your API key correctly.
We reset those to 8000 and 16000 and your calls are still counted with Auth Key.
Bear in mind that you will need to use your API key in order to continue streaming when those counters get to 10000 and 20000.
More info regarding streaming can be found on the following link:
https://min-api.cryptocompare.com/documentation/websockets?key=Connection&cat=HowToConnect
Also, please check the "Re-connection or stale connection logic" section.
If there is anything else that we can do for you, please let us know.
Best regards,
CryptoCompare team

Hello,
Thank you for your prompt response,
All our available endpoints can be found on this documentation page
https://min-api.cryptocompare.com/documentation
In the historical section, you can find mentioned links.
https://min-api.cryptocompare.com/documentation?key=Historical&cat=dataHistoday
Example for the GRT/EUR pair:
https://min-api.cryptocompare.com/data/v2/histoday?fsym=GRT&tsym=EUR&limit=10
As we see from the provided link data is available, please double the source from where does the Wealth-Lap generate data.
Also, please double-check if you are using your API key correctly.
As we see you used 60000 calls out of the 20000 without using your API key.
This is the streaming counter with the use of the API key:
We will restart those to 80%, however, make sure you are using your API key properly.
In the meantime, if there is anything else that we can do for you, please let us know.
Best regards,
CryptoCompare team
I just remembered, yesterday I had the same error with WL's crypto data. Do you also get your data from Cryptocompare?
They are telling: Wealth-Lab makes calls to the API without using the key. You must have entered your Cryptocompare API key in the Data Manager incorrectly or not entered it at all?
He’s talking about streaming. Our interface is historical only not streaming 🤷🏼♂️
Hello,
I think it is because of Wealth-Lap. I have recreated a new API key to have tried that as well. Nothing changes. I have also booked the correct data to Cryptocompare.

Whether I stream or historical data is queried depends on Wealth-Lap. There are different endpoints that need to be addressed. I can't influence that only your programmers.
What actually causes records to be marked red in WL, even though the correct date is there?

There is no streaming data support for CC and we are querying the correct endpoints.

Hello,
yes, of course I have entered the API code. As I had already written, I had even created a new API code at CC for control and used it. The result was the same negative.
How does WL evaluate the data. When do they turn "red"? In the chart I can see the candle and still an exit signal is generated because of data problems.
What should I do now? CC says I query the data incorrectly and you say you query correctly.

Thank you for the detailed reply.
As we have no idea how you're using the API key, what data loading range do you specify and for how many strategies is Cryptocompare data applied to? Apparently too many requests are being made, exhausting your quota. To understand why this may be happening we need to understand what leads to a high data consumption. The more detailed answer you can provide the better.
"Live streaming subscriptions" can safely be disabled for your API key at Cryptocompare because WL7 does not use its streaming data nor make connections to relevant endpoints.
A negative bar-to-bar change. This is just Data Manager's eye candy to indicate the instrument's price has declined.

Thank you very much!
But all this does not help me.
At WL there is an interface to CC and at CC there is data.
1. What exactly do I have to do so that the system works reliably and WL achieves good results with it?
2. If this does not work with CC, how and where do I get reliable EOD data of a larger amount of cryptos?

For the problem with Binance I will open an extra thread

To answer this kind of questions we have to find out the reason why this is affecting you so please refer to Post #21.

No need, it's been already created:
https://www.wealth-lab.com/Discussion/Binance-historical-data-exception-in-Data-Manager-7661
Because there's no data for the 26th?
The 26th is today and EOD would have been the 25th yesterday.
Have I made a mistake in my thinking?
Or does that have to do with the local time? I am in Europe. But even with -7 hours, in the USA it would now be the 26th.

Do you see data for the 26th on a 60-minute chart?
Some coins are not imported. Here is the answer from Cryptocompare for the pair AVAY.BTC
The link works and yet the data does not arrive in WL. Why is this?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting CryptoCompare.
Could you please provide us full API call link (URL) that you were using while trying to obtain these prices so we can investigate this further?
Also, make sure that you are using your API key properly every time.
Here is an example of the API call that returns daily historical prices for AVAX/BTC pair which is one of the pairs that you didn't get any data according to your list
https://min-api.cryptocompare.com/data/v2/histoday?fsym=AVAX&tsym=BTC&limit=10
As you can see from the timestamps in the API call, everything works fine on our end, prices are updated correctly.
In the meantime, if there is anything else we can help you with don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
CryptoCompare team

yes
Ok, first off, WL7 should actually not deliver a daily bar for the 26th until after 12:00am UST for the 27th. Prior to that time, the daily bar is considered partial, and will be returned when streaming is turned on only.
But I noticed an issue with our CryptoCompare provider. It’s not properly stripping off the partial bar, and I added a fix for this for our next build.
That makes me wonder why you weren’t seeing the bar in the first place, and I’ll continue to investigate.

I have 250000 calls per month free. To date, I have used about 4000 of them.
Then what data does WL use through what interface?
CC offers me RestAPI and WebSocket in my Professional plan. Can WL not use these two?
Is WL using a third interface that is not documented?
Honestly, I don't understand this.

Thank you for taking care of this.
It really is the case that sometimes the candles are displayed and sometimes they are not, as you can see in the example below.
Today, March 1, the problem persists. Although the EOD prices from yesterday, February 28th were imported from Coinbase, false signals are generated. So I can not use WL. No reliable signals are generated.

Hi Lukas, I'm still investigating this. But, to be clear, since it is still March 1, the last daily bar I would expect to see is Feb 28. You won't see signals based on a March 1 daily bar until March 1 is completely finished.
But I think what is happening is that our CC provider is not property stripping off the partial daily bar, so you are getting daily bars with different time portions, which is causing the messages you see. Working on a fix for this at the moment.
