IB is returning error message "Invalid FA method specified" when placing orders from a strategy. This has started today (B44 ?). Do we need to do anything different w IB? Thank you

We didn't make any functional changes to IB lately. But if you're placing a MOC or LOC order, that could be something to go on. Otherwise, not enough information.

Is yours an FA account?
That might be something to work with too. WealthLab's IB Provider does not currently support FA accounts explicitly.

That exact message doesn't appear in IB docs as far as I found, there's an obscure reference to it here but nothing to go on!

and for posterity here is the rare one-result Google search!!

Interestingly note the date of the report (2023-08-22). Makes me believe it's an IB issue that has suddenly popped up on their side.

the order is a limit order. I have been using this strategy months with IB with no problems. Today IB stopped accepting the order. my account is family FA and has never been a problem for order automation with WL. A similar strategy works with TDA and has no problem in B44.

I would contact IB about this, see above. You're not alone in this.
