Please add options support. Including quotes, historical and current, and the ability to use the quotes in strategies that can create signals for options.

Thank you.

Is there a specific broker you're looking for here, I assume IB?

I ended up going with TD Ameritrade. I have a strategy that looks at leveraged ETF options that I built/backtested in SQL that works well but is very very cumbersome to implement with actual daily quotes and placing orders.

Honestly though I have so many other things I need to do first with my stock strategies, for me personally this is lower priority than it was before.

Thank you for looking at this and obviously I won't get in the way suggest you keep it tabled if others are still interested.

Thanks!

As far as I can tell, TDA isn't returning historical interval data for options on the API. I can get Option chains with the last price, but using the symbol returned in the chain or using the ThinkOrSwim symbol format, the history request always comes back empty.

OK, let's retire this request for now, since we know TD does not provide historical options contract data. We can re-activate if someone really wants this for a broker who does offer the data.

IB (and Fidelity) does return historical data for non-expired contracts. Just sayin'.

Vote for the Tradier extension - they offer historical options data and are a brokerage geared primarily toward options. And i’m finally getting into options myself this year so i may just upvote this request myself! Maybe it’s time to move my Fidelity account to Tradier? 🤔

I am looking forward to the options strategies for IB. Is it possible?

IB doesn't provide historical data for expired contracts, so unfortunately it's not doable at the present time.

historicaloptiondata.com does provide extensive historical options data. It would be great if this data provider could be added as well as any interfaces, tools, etc. to create option trading strategies.

We already evaluated them, and Cone dismissed them from consideration for this reason:
