I have updated YCharts Fundamental data months ago and I can get these data (e.g., [yc] market_cap) successfully. Now I updated them again since I added more symbols, however all YCharts Fundamental data is empty. Any reason for that?

Short answer: update the extension.

Long answer: YCharts had a habit of changing their data formats every couple of months, making the provider stop functioning partially or completely.

Suggestion: update extensions when the Extension Manager notifies you; if "check for updates on startup" is disabled, turn it on. Other helpful references:

Thank you for your reply.

Ye, I haven't updated the YCharts extension. Now I updated it to the latest version (2011.06), but got below error while updating data:

"WealthLabDev has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".

I uninstalled YCharts extension, and reinstalled it again. The error still existed. Any suggestions?

Wait a minute. Are you a YCharts Pro customer? "Months ago" YCharts was different. Unless you followed the online guide and entered your own YCharts Pro credentials in the Data Manager's tab, the provider will not work.

Thanks, I just created a support ticket.

Btw, I noticed YCharts adds pe_value, ps_value in the new version, but what's the difference between below variables?

pe_ratio vs. pe_value
ps_ratio vs. ps_value

Thanks for your helps.

Please refer to the help section on the YCharts website and/or their tech support.

In the last version, a number of Pro-only fundamental items were added. My understanding is that one won't get that data w/o being a Pro customer (I may be wrong).

In any case, I was asking if you have valid credentials that "unlock" the YChart export capability.

Yes, you are right.

Now I registered with a YChart pro account, then now I was able to download YChart data with YCharts ID/passwd configured in Data Manager.

But preferably WL should not crash if I haven't input YCharts ID/passwd. It should give me the warning message to input ID/passwd instead of crashing.

This is why it's repeatedly stated on the provider's description page and in its Wiki online guide page:

1. The provider requires a paid subscription to YCharts Pro
2. The data is not available to YCharts Basic users

I completely agree with you: WL should not crash on no YCharts credentials entered. It never did for me before in testing. Likewise, it does not happen to me now (although trying to download with missing/invalid password will destroy accumulated data for the symbol). Can't reproduce.

I have downloaded free Ycharts Fundamental Data and they are empty. Does Ycharts still allow free data download?

No worries, their website still does (although to a very limited extent). It weren't YCharts if they won't make a breaking change to their protocols or URLs a couple of times per year. YCharts is a champion: it's been a dozen times now when such adjustments had to be made to the provider. Now it's the time for another cosmetic change (fortunately!)

Long story short, look for extension update early next week. And thanks for the heads-up.
