I have been using Wealth-Lab Pro V5.3 for just over 2 months and my overall impression
of the program is positive. Also appreciate good support provided on this Forum.

Prior to writing backtest code, I will usually spend quite a bit of time performing
visual backtesting looking at a Strategy Chart to make sure I am comfortable with the
trades of a method. So Charting and Parameter features are important to me. Here
are some features that I would like to request be added to Wealth-Lab to make working
with Strategy Charts easier. Appreciate this opportunity to provide feedback.

1. Provide the capability to allow Symbols to be entered as Strategy parameters. Having
Strategy parameters that can only be numbers is restrictive often requiring code
modification to associate numbers with different symbols. There are applications where
it is helpful to look first visually at relative performance or spreads between different
symbols. This can result in the need to frequently change the reference/spread symbol.

2. Provide a function to allow the user to keep the top bars of the chart below the
symbol title. Often when there is a long title you cannot see bars high in the range.

3. Add logic to adjust the frequency or format of dates at the bottom of intraday charts
when the chart button “Decrease Bars Spacing” is used. Often when bar spacing
is reduced on intraday charts (e.g. 5 minute bars) the dates run together making them
unreadable.

Hi John,

Great to hear your positive feedback.

A note regarding your suggestion to allow other data types (such as string) to serve as Strategy parameters. Please let's not have any illusions about that: Straps can only be numeric and this is by design. You already figured out the workaround i.e. to associate numbers with different symbols.

As a workaround, you can almost suppress the title by setting the font size of the "Symbol & Co. Name" to some small value like 1 in the Preferences dialog. However, the thing that you described seems to affect charts in semi-log mode.

I absolutely agree with you. Could you create a ticket for that, please?
