Hi All,

I am interested in purchasing wealth lab, but I would like to install it on both my machines.

Will this involve an additional license?

Thank you for your interest. Yes, installing on another computer assumes an additional license - at a discounted price.

Hi Eugene,

I have some additional questions:

1 – I understand that the wiki library acts a programmers resources, but are there any manual that are provided that help shed light on some of the topics that users may nto be initially fully familiar with, (such as the margin factor) or is wiki the main education centre for everything and everyone?

2 – I have a strategy, that will give a buy or sell signal based on the criteria met by both weekly and daily time series. So IF weekly does this, AND, daily is this, THEN buy on the daily. This strategy is dependent on a criteria met my different time horizons. Can WL support this ?

3 – Can both licences be run at the same time ?

4- For someone back testing a trend following strategy across a diversified basket of contract (NOT all $ denominated) for the last 18 years for instance, where some trades are in the JPY, and some in GBP – what solution does WL offer FX conversion for non$ denominated trades ? so that the overall strategy performance reports provides the results in $ for instance…

Thanks for all you help,

James

Wiki, in short, is the home of our Knowledge Base (including indicator documentation) and open-source community-driven projects. Wiki is ideal to update certain sorts of content timely.

Margin factor is expained in the Wealth-Lab User Guide. Programming examples can be found in the WealthScript Programming Guide and in the QuickRef tool.

Sure. You should be able to mix any allowed time frame with another, ranging from hi-frequent intraday time scales to yearly. The WealthScript Programming Guide contains a handful of example that illustrate such kind of multiple time frame analysis.

Of course they can.

Thanks Eugene,

That is really useful.

Did you have an answer for question 4?

Wealth-Lab doesn't have a solution for multi-currency.

Hi Cone, can I ask, how does one proceed with backtesting a portfolio of diversified futures products with W.L ?
Lets assume, I want to backtest a strategy on the futures market, am I right in saying that the strategy can only be backtested on $ based futures contracts (i.e futures contracts that only trade on U.S exchanges)?

The futures can trade in any currency - the key point is that the basis currency should be single.

Thanks, what so you mean by the basis currency should be single ?
Lets assume iam testing a strategy for wheat (USD), gold (USD), The japanese 10 year goverment bond (Yen) and the LIFFE sugar (GBP). I can uploaded data from excel, for historical prices series, as well as cash FX spot rates for those period if necessary.
Can WL backtest and provide the historical performance metrics in single USD currency ?
What is the workaround ? This applies to those backtesting a trendfollowing strategy across a basket of global diversified futures products for instance

Let's not discuss this here, please. After all, the thread is devoted to Wealth-Lab pricing, not futures pricing :) If you're interested, please create a thread in an appropriate forum.

Hi Eugene,

When ordering your product, it asks for a quantity. Can you just clarify...
I requested 2 units over the transaction provider Regsoft,
(I am after 2 liscences) but it charges for me the full price for two,
witbout the discounted price for the additional liscence.

Can you help?

Hi Adrien,

Please choose only 1 unit when purchasing and then create a support ticket. We'll instruct you how to get the discount. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your interest in the product.

Hi!

I stumbled upon this old thread and I would like to add that our BTAnalytics application offers a simple solution to the problem of multi-currency simulations with Wealth-Lab.

Read this article about Multi-Currency Simulations to discover how easy it is with BTAnalytics to combine strategies that operate with instruments denominated in different currencies.
