I've called Fidelity today and told them that I will be taking my business elsewhere if there's no resolution on the API issue anytime soon.

I was informed that the API documentation is "ready" and is currently "awaiting legal approval", but they refused to give me any ETA.

I know there are several people on this forum who are eagerly waiting for the API to be published. Please call Fidelity today, express your dissatisfaction, give them your account number and ask them to call you back when more information on the API documentation is available.

I made a call to fidelity about the API and also for providing pre/post market data! I sincerly hope many people here do the same, as fidelity will only respond if "many" complained. May be we should start a new topic on improvements we as fidelity users would like. So whoever takes a peek at this thread CALL FIDELITY requesting API documentation and RT pre/post data feeds.

I contacted Fidelity this morning to find out about the API. The fellow told me he didn't know, but will put word in to find out.

Later this month I was told.

If I had a nickel for every time they promised this and didn't deliver I could just retire and not worry about the API.

This is taking long enough it has me wondering if the government is somehow involved :P

Is this the API for PosSizers or all public APIs available through WLP?

If you're asking whether the PosSizer API can be utilized in a Strategy, the answer is no - they have to be integrated as a library (DLL). If I didn't understand your question, please reprhase.

The Wealth-Lab API Documentation. Is that the PosSizer documentation or are there more public APIs that will be documented?

The complete set of documents (probably except some APIs on Fidelity's discretion i.e. the broker/fundamental API, but don't quote me on that).

Yeah, I can lookup the libraries of WL, find needed objects, properties and methods and override it in my code, but there is too much time to understand concretely what it is made for and to test it. I can't believe that there's no API documentation...

Alternatively, you could read the FAQ: Is there any API for the development of a data adapter?

Sorry but this question keeps repeating over and over despite that the answer is in the FAQ long since, and we have no control over the publication of the API documentation.

Plus some other documents explaining the interfaces like CustomSettings, MarketInfo, Optimizers etc. there should be.

Fidelity has made available several Wealth-Lab Pro 5 API related documents that explain the creation of custom extensions such as Indicators, Chart Styles, Visualizers, Optimization, and PosSizers:

Is there any sample code available for the Optimization API?

Also... API for SystemPerformance, SystemResults and OptimizationResult is not published yet, is it correct?

The OptimizationResult class is documented in the PDF on creating optimizers.

No sample code of an optimizer is/was available.

SystemPerformance/SystemResults, Chart Drawing Objects, MarketInfo APIs - not published yet; I'll let the forum know on these if I have more information.

Sad but true -- make sure to save local copies of everything in case Fidelity decides to remove it again.

Just in case someone else wonders about MarketInfo docs - in next release, they're a part of the QuickRef.
