The new WL 5.6 takes a long time to open any chart or strategy, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. I didn't have that problem with 4.0 version. Need suggestion to correct as it's of little value to me this way.

Uncheck "Update data on demand" in the Data Manager. Then update your DataSets manually (optionally set them to auto-update) and I bet you will feel the difference.

The biggest reason Version 5 takes longer than Version 4 is due to the time it takes to load all the .NET components. 90 - 120 seconds is pretty excessive, but that could be due to other factors such as cpu, memory, or default Workspace items. For example, it only takes about 5 seconds to launch a blank workspace on my modest quad core with lots of RAM overhead (8G).

Good point. It also takes some CPU cycles to scan the Strategy folders on each start and some little time to load the Extension DLLs (if installed).
