If this forum there is a link to the ChartScript Search Page.

http://wl4.wealth-lab.com/cgi-bin/WealthLab.DLL/getpage?page=ChartScriptSearch.htm

This is a great idea.

Is there a way Performance Search stratagies relatave to the current version of Wealth-Lab?

Happy Thanksgiving.

Yes, it's called Strategy Ranking. The tool is available from the WLP Tools menu. More in the User Guide > Strategy Rankings.

P.S. There is no online version.

How do we access the "Top 25" ChartScript strategies (http://wl4.wealth-lab.com/cgi-bin/WealthLab.DLL/getpage?page=Top25.htm) in WL-6? Have these been ported to the new platform (noticed the code on the link is older).

thanks

Strategy Ranking is a great tool.

Performance of strategies can be obtained after each strategy is set up for best results. Am I correct in assuming each user would need to go through this process for the provided canned strategies to determine top performers?

Is there a way users can communicate to each other which strategies work the best?

The link to the ChartScript Search Page (see above) was really a great idea.

Right on. This allows the ultimate level of customization with sets of custom performance metrics and your very own DataSets with shorter/longer history.

Maybe, if there was protection against "unfair" multi-position dip buying systems competing with "fair" single-position systems. The former would take dozens of positions on one bar (e.g. 10% per position * 2,3,..10) while the latter would use only 10% equity. In fact, you won't see any trend-follower among the Top-25 list - it's crowded with counter-trend systems taking multiple positions for up to 100% capital, incurring great risks.

Agree - the Strategy Rankings metrics report or ChartScripts don't tell the whole story. Need to look at the logic, optimize over your data-set of choice, watch out for curve-fitting etc.. Substantial work still involved in ranking the strategies.

All said and done, it's a great resource.
