How does one plot industry data of a security that it belongs to. In wl4 watchlist was used, is there a similar function that can do that.

For instance, by using a class developed by ss161 here: Accessing industry and sector for an equity.

This will be much easier in 5.5, which for Wealth-Lab Pro adds a static class Gics, which will be documented with the following example in the WealthScript Programming Guide: Fundamental Analysis > GICS Data

Will Gics (in WLP 5.5) provide an index symbol for the industry or sector? I would like to chart relative strength of a security against its industry or sector.

Indices are not a Gics function. You can just code some sort of a look-up for whatever you're interested in.

I assume the look-up you're refering to Cone is data external to WLP. It appears Gics can provide an industry or sector description in WLP 5.5 (when it is released); however, I would still need to build my own cross reference from description to index symbol. This cross reference may be different for each data provider I use (e.g. Fidelity Data Provider uses a different symbol than Yahoo).
