A couple of bugs:

1. Crashes WLP/WLD on start if MtiQS is not installed or uninstalled.
2. Produces an error when trying to download Yahoo EOD data, saying that a file like Yahoo.quot is not found. No data is downloaded. Manually creating the file does the trick.

Suggestion:

Please condider moving the application data from Program Files to %AppData%.

Eugene, could you please be so kindly and describe the steps a little bit more detailed? I installed the extension and I can not start WL5 any longer. I thought the extension allows me to combine eSignal with WL5 but now I am happy if I simply can remove the extension as soon as possible without effecting my WL5 version.

By the way: How can this happen? I mean, why is an extension that crashes WL5 published here? Why don't you delete it until the bugs are solved?

Faik, I'm not sure who told you that it's an eSignal adapter -- we didn't say this for sure.

This is a 3rd party extension that we do not support. To use it, installing the MtiQS package first from the publisher's website is required:

The Extension causes a crash only if MtiQS is not installed (or is uninstalled). The provider is loaded in memory when Wealth-Lab starts, and inability to call some required program object causes the crash. We hope that the author will get it fixed soon.

Since the Extension is a connectivity layer between the MtiQS server software and Wealth-Lab, it's assumed that you already have it installed. Install and the crash will go away; if you choose not to install, then simply remove the provider files from Wealth-Lab main directory (C:\Program Files\MS123\Wealth-Lab Developer 5) -

WealthLab.DataProviders.MtiQS.dll and Interop.MQS.dll.

Re: Unpublish the Extension.

It's easy to unpublish an Extension but I'm not sure why should we be doing so if it functions as advertised? To me, the description text above the Download link says it pretty clear:

QUOTE:
The extension is the connection point to Multi Quote Server, an external application which can connect to many data feeds. Via Multi Quote Server you can retrieve real time and historical quotes for analysis in WealthLab.NET

Eugene, I saw the extension and read "Multi Quote Server" and ... didn't know that this is a product. My hope was, that it is a server for a few realtime data provider (like esignal), because I am looking for intraday data.

Yes, you are right, one can read this in detailed informations, but I still think, that it is quite bad, that just because the extension is installed and one has NOT installed Multi Quote Server WL5 crashes.

So since I am not able to run WL5 any longer, my problem is: How can I deinstall the extension?

Please help.

Delete the files that Eugene put in bold type in his last post.

Okay, I'll implement a routine which will check whetether Multi Quote Server is already installed. When not the user should see a message box and the proveider will be disabled. Normally the extension should only be used when Multi Quote Server will be used too.

Please let me know in case of more questions or trouble.

OK, just make sure to select "Update Extension" when updating (otherwise the upload will not succeed.)

I installed the MiQS extension to WL, installed MiQS, started MiQS, and set up a conection to TWS with data for WFC. Then when I start WL, I get the following error
QUOTE:
Multi Quote Server not yet installed or started! Please insrtall and/or start Multi Quote Server and restart WLD
. However, MiQS is running and shows real-time data be collected from TWS. What is the problem?

1) Try to uninstall/install the Extension again.
2) I haven't used the tool for some time so I could have forgotten if there's some sort of option to enable data export to external applications. I'd suggest to check this out.

And the best is to contact the support at http://www.mtiqs.com/en/index.php.
