Does anyone have any suggestions about hardware specifications for running Wealthlab?

Does anyone have any experience with Falcon Trading Computers? Or Xview computers? Or any other trading computers?

What hardware specs should I purchase for optimal backtesting and running trading systems in realtime with Wealthlab?

Thanks.

Over 150 views and nobody wants to step up to the plate.

For Wealth-Lab 6, you'll want a fast processor (see http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ for benchmarks), 64-bit O.S, and a minimum of 4G of memory, preferrably 8G or more if you need to run large simulations or optimizations (real-time memory requirements are minimal). Wealth-Lab doesn't take advantage of multi-core CPUs, but it certainly runs more smoothly for true multi-tasking.

Apart from cpu, o.s, and memory, you have to decide your display requirements. I don't have any experience with those specific brands you mentioned, but I've walked by Xview exhibits at the Traders' Expos. It's best to talk to them directly to see what they have to offer over generic brands. In my mind, it's the multi-video setup (monitors and display adapters) that you're paying for there. If you need to monitor more than 6 charts simultaneously, you'll want at least a dual-monitor setup. Certainly if you want to do other tasks like watching news or browsing, you'll need another monitor or maybe just an old laptop for that.

Thanks for the response Cone. I think I'm going with a Falcon quad-core with 12GB RAM. Windows 7 64-bit.

Do you know if the Windows 7 version matters for Wealthlab? Here are the 3 options:

1. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

2. Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

3. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Thanks.

Unless you decide to expand the RAM to over 16Gb (the maximum that W7 HP can handle), for Wealth-Lab the Windows 7 version is irrelevant.
