Hi,
I have 2 workspaces(WS) open with each containting 2 charts. Total of 4 charts (2WS), one WS with 1min and 5min DOW30 index and other WS containing 2 charts with 1min and 5min NASDAQ100 index. All of them are running the SAME strategy, only scales and Indexes are different. When I open up another WS(3rd WS), containing one or two charts for ANY other symbols(e.g. AAPL), they dont update in RT!! On 1st run of the strategy a "ghost" bar is visible but does NOT update, on subsequent tick (e.g. 1min) there is NO "ghost" bar!Only the WS containing index work in RT. Anybody having similar problem? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
Update on above problem.
-I closed WL5 and all other apps such as IE8,ActiveTraderPro and restarted the WL5 and had same problems.
-Tried a simple strategy, with just one ema of 20 period for "aapl" still same problem.
-Then I shut down my computer and had a cold start and started all the SAME apps i had in previous session and started WL5. It seems to WORK now!!
I have noticed the same proble as above a few times, usually when the market is volatile as today. May be it is due to problem with Fidelity ,WL5 RT feed for fidelity or my computing environment. I dont think its the startegy because it was working before and also a bare minimum strategy with just an ema 20 plotted does not work with any symbols except the indexes!MY computer, VISTA home premium 64, 6gb ram 80gb SSD, 300gb HD. Any idea?

It's not related to your environment, but is something between the streaming adapter, authentication, and server. The problem has been documented previously and is under investigation. It worthy to note that in the mid-year release, all of these components are changing.

For now, if you ever see a streaming chart without a ghost bar, try logging out and back in. Monitor streaming closely thereafter, and if it happens again, restart WLP.

bobydesai - I reported this same (streaming data disconnects) last Sept. The Fidelity software team responsible for fixing this issue is imcompetent and unresponsive. They do not know why this problem occurs and have no urgency in pursuing a fix. As a result WLP is useless as a real-time trade management tool. It's a shame because it is a wonderful product in so many other ways. Below is the link to my post about this. I will be switching my active trading account to another brokerage as it's the only way for me to get the service I need.

Cone.
Thanks for the info. At least i can stop chasing my tail or Ghost(pun intended)
cfurer,
I have also complained to Fidelity before,i was thinnking it was due to something i did. I dont really feel confident about RT auto trading and leaving my screen for a while. If you dont mind it will be nice if you can also call fidelity and suggest that they provide an API guide.

All -

I believe I stumbled on a temporary workaround for the streaming data bug a couple days ago. I started using WLP on multiple monitors by using the "New Main Workspace Window" option. Within the new main workspace window on my secondary monitor I have 4 charts open, and in the primary window on my main monitor I have only one chart open. The data feed on the secondary monitor with the 4 charts has not disconnected in the last couple days. Strangely, the data feed on my primary monitor with 1 active chart continues to disconnect at approximately 11am and 2pm ET.

I will test the Strategy Monitor in the new workspace to see if it remains connected as well. I'm assuming it will just as the charts do.

While I hope this continues to work for you, in my analysis the data seem to conflict. The approximately 3-hour disconnects sounds like an authentication issue (cookie refresh), but if authentication were the problem, then none of the Streaming charts should continue to stream. Also, I've even seen some charts in the same Workspace stop and others continue (all the while with a "Connected" status). The only way to fix it was to restart.

Anyway, if you have more observations, please pass them on. Thanks.
