Hello,

I've installed WLD x64 on the same machine for the same user as WLP x64. I've used the migration tool to copy all data and extensions. When I open Extension Manager in either app, it does not show a full list of extensions. Also it shows "Not Installed" for some extensions that are listed - please see screenshots.
It looks like extensions are installed (they show up when I try to add new dataset in WLD or add an indicator), but I am confused on why display is broken and whether uninstalling WLP could break any extensions in WLD. Anyone had experienced this?

Thanks,
Maxim

Hi,

Having encountered an error message or an issue, please always check out these pages first:

1. Known Errors
2. Open Issues

In particular, this error is resolved by following this procedure:

Errors | Extensions, Other errors > In Wealth-Lab Pro, Extension Manager marks some extensions are "Not Installed" or doesn't list them. They work normally but cannot be updated.

Hi Eugene,

Thank you for your reply, I think that I might have not put emphasis on the fact that this error appeared only after I installed WLD in parallel to WLP and ran the migration process - extensions looked fine when I checked them few weeks ago.

The main problem is not "Not Installed" message, but rather the fact that I do not see half of my extensions in WLP and see some of the missing extensions in WLD and vice versa. I've checked the links you provided, but I do not see anything matching my case exactly. I do think that this might be caused by the fact that extensions DLLs were copied from WLP directory to WLD directory, but I am not sure if this would be the case.

Thanks,
Maxim

Maxim,

Switch the "Show" dropdown to "Other extensions" to see all your installed Extensions.

Eugene, while you are correct and I can see this dropdown in WLP (and see additional extensions if I choose Other), I do no see it in WLD. For example, there are no Indicators extensions shown in WLD, while I can add TASC indicators on the chart in WLD. My biggest concern now is WLD and making sure that these extensions would remain available if I uninstall WLP.

Thanks,
Maxim

You will not see it in WLD because it has never been there (by design). WLD lists all extensions and doesn't have the concept of "Fidelity supported" ones.

Switch to the "Indicators" to view indicator libraries. If you still don't find them there, simply reinstall them from the Extensions section of our website.

Since WLP/D installation folders are independent, please don't be concerned about this.

Hi Eugene,

If I switch to Indicators tab in Extension Manager in WLD I see nothing listed. I'd like to list all the steps I did and all the assumptions I made - please let me know if I missed anything:

1. I have TASC Indicators installed in WLP (and it shows up in Extension Manager in WLP).
2. I've used the WLP to WLP migration program (ran it as Administrator) and it ran successfully. I thought that this migration app supposed to copy all plugins including indicators - am I correct?
3. If I go to c:\program files\MS123\Wealth-Lab Developer 6\ folder, I can see TASCIndicators.dll in that folder. Does that mean that indicators library is installed?
4. If I open WLD and create a new chart and try to add new indicator, TASC Magazine indicators group is showing in Technical Indicators list - does this mean that indicators library is installed?
5. If I open Extension Manager in WLD and click on Indicators tab, I see nothing.
6. If I drop TASCIndicators WLE onto Extension Manager, I do see a progress bar showing something is being copied, but the status for that extension shows "Not Installed" initially.
7. When I restart WLD after step 6, The installer agent window pops up and it shows "TASC Magazine Indicators" library as being added and result shows as "Successful" but right after that if I go to Extension Manager and Indicators tab it still shows nothing.

Thanks,
Maxim

The TASCIndicators library is installed correctly. Like I already said in post #2, follow the Wiki article to fix the "Not Installed" issue:

1. On Windows, open "Control Panel", then go Programs and "Turn Windows features on or off". Enable ".NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)" and apply it.

.NET Framework 3.5 (including .NET 2.0 and 3.0) is already enabled on my workstation. Anything else that I can check?

It may have something to do with the Extension migration on your workstation. Maybe a weird permission/attribute issue or may be a duplicate extension DLL got copied inadvertently.

If you're concerned with Extensions not displaying in the EM, even though they do work, you could try to uninstall WLD, delete its folder under Program Files, and reinstall it and every Extension required.

Hold on a minute. If you're getting the shaded blue box instead of the check mark for the .NET Framework 3.5.1 choice (see below), then you only partially enabled .NET Framework 3.5.1.

The question remains, "Why is .NET Framework 3.5.1 only being partially enabled?" If I was to hazard a "wild guess", I would say some security patch has patched the registry so it can't be entirely enabled. At any rate, we both have the same problem; see below. The right solution would be to update the heat map extension to .NET Framework 4.6.2.

It's all right. The HeatMap extension is not listed on our website (Extensions section) therefore it's a "Local" one (grayed out). No reason to worry.
