Wealth-Lab on the road?

I have numerous custom data sets and complex strategies built on my desktop PC.

How can I transfer/import these datasets and strategies to my laptop?

Thanks...

Edit: I searched the program files on my desktop PC to see if I could find the user-created datasets and strategies (and somehow manually transfer them). The only files that show up are the pre-programmed ones, even thought my user-generated datasets and strategies are clearly functioning in my desktop PC.

You'll find the data directory location in the Wealth-Lab User Guide, Data > Where Data is Stored. Install WL5 on the laptop and copy the DataSets, Strategies and Fidelity* folders, or the whole root directory if you like.

And there is where the problem is:

None of my user created WLP5 folders (datasets/strategies) are listed in the WLP5 Application Data on my desktop PC -- therefore I can't find them to even manually transfer them to the laptop.

Just to test if this is some sort of a glitch on my desktop, I created a dataset and a strategy folder on the laptop and neither of them showed up in the root directory either.

Please carefully re-read my reply above. You're looking in the wrong place, and the User Guide does not instruct to search there.

Enable hidden file visibility in Explorer, if necessary.

Eugene,

I copied the entire WLP5 folder from my desktop PC onto a FlashMem stick. Even when I open the FlashMem stick on my laptop, none of the user defined datasets and strategies are there.
And yet... they're all working just fine on the desktop PC. Even doing a search on the desktop of the name I assigened to the user-created folders comes up with nothing.

Are my datasets/strategies stored on my computer or with Fidelity in the web?

Hmmmm... another thought. Do I have to call Fidelity and get the new download on my laptop "activated"? (even though I'm running it on my desktop)

What's the point? Where is this suggested, could you point us?

To find the answer, let me repeat it for the 2nd time:

1. You are looking in the wrong place.
2. Follow the advice in my post from 6/7/2009 12:50 AM to find the correct location of the data.
3. Chances are the location could be invisible in Explorer, so you could use a hint in my post from 6/7/2009 8:11 AM.
