Which provider is more preferable for WL in terms of proccessing speed, ASCI or Database (ADO.NET)?

The question is too general. Take your favorite task, your ASCII and DB provider DataSets, and do a few runs to measure the average time required for each one.

I don't see the "general" aspect of my question since I specified "in terms of proccessing speed".
Does your answer implies that there are cases where ASCI is better than Database and cases where the opposite is true?
Could you please provide some more insight on the issue? It would be much more helpful than performing several runs on each case?

Thanks

Do you seriously want me to believe that the question contains enough details to answer it? ;)

In terms of processing speed of what? Single symbol? Or maybe a DataSet with the whole NASDAQ universe? How many bars loaded, 100 or 1 million? Last but not least, what's a "database", which database engine it uses?

My answer does not imply anything. It depends on many factors like ASCII Cache, database server location (network/localhost), database engine, amount of data etc. Like question, like answer: compare and you will know it at first hand.

No. I want you to believe that I thought that the question contained enough details to answer it. Apparently I was wrong but you have to consider that when someone asks something so general, you as a knowledgable person of the topic should direct him somehow (if you want).

It seems though that the only way is a few runs...

Thanks again
