It's not a feature request yet, but a call to discussion.

While discussing about upcoming Russian connector for WL7 with russian traders, this topic appeared.

I think it is not implemented now, but I'm not even sure wheather it is compatible with current architecture.

I'm talking about being able to react on different execution events (or some other events). Like order status changing (e.g. execution, partial fill or something), So you could move an order or send new order or something.

E.g. pair trading, you can't fully control the spread withing the candle now I guess as you can not use stop orders.

This is in my opinion a highly demanded feature (at least I need this and many traders I talked to called it important too).

Throughout it's hsitory WL has primarily a backtesting and trading system development tool. Sure, you can automatically trade a Strategy in a limited way, but that was never the primary mission of WL.

But there is surely a demand for beefing up the real-time trading side of things. The only problem is, there's no good way to backtest such event driven Strategies, so how do you know they perform well?

I'm not saying we'd never offer anything like this, we likely will in time.

I see, thanks Dion.

My current strategies portfolio adapts to the infrastructure. I've been trading on Daily now). When our connector is ready I'm planing to move to 1 hour and 5 minute TFs. And then maybe I'll be interested in stuff like this (more attention to execution). I'm sure WL7 will be even better by that time. Coevolving).

I will also be interested in processing events, but the events which I am interested in is graphical events on the chart :-) Like able to show a popup with some content when mouse hovers over a specific point. It will be good if we can add some html content on the chart and make it interactive.

This is not related to topic starter's question but I'll reply here. According to @superticker, you can already accomplish this with ScottPlot:

<<I have looked more at ScottPlot. It appears to support Tool-Tip messages if you mouse over a point.>>

And you could also develop a custom extension to draw chart objects:
