When optimizing strategies, it often requires comparing multiple sets of "Strategy Parameters". Since I started using Wealth Lab, I've ended up creating a huge text file full of different parameter values for different strategies, since it can be useful to use these previous values when defining the min/max values for optimization parameters.

However, if the Strategy Window had some sort of history of previous parameter sets that had been backtested, it would no longer be necessary to manually write these values down (and possibly make an error in the process). If there was a button next to the historical parameter sets that allowed running a backtest using those values in a single click, that would be a dream come true!

Interesting idea, it's in line with some other requests for beefed up ability to store more meta/comments with a strategy.

This idea reminded me of the Snapshots tool we had back in WL6 days:

I really doubt that further overloading the GUI with a box holding the history of strategy parameters would benefit the product for it would have an adverse effect on its learning curve. It's too specific a case.

IMHO it could be implemented simply by virtue of the strategy version control request:

I currently just snapshot my settings before adjusting them and save the photo.
