Briefly, I perform evolver analyses which are used to populate flat matrices to compare outcomes and detect sweetspots. Anyway, so that each cell's data is comparably produced, I limit the time that the Almighty Evolver has, to produce data for each cell. And, I "limit" the number of processing generations to 1000 for each cell (which can take 10-15 minutes each) so that I'm being as objective as possible. So one set of data can take 16+ hours to run. A selectable "limit" would be very useful for these types of analyses, or,, on those occasions where you start an Evolver before retiring, but don't want it to run all night ... so I can walk away in between runs.

I'm not a coder but this one seems like a relatively easy one. Just sayin'

(PS Edit: it would also be nice to be able to edit the title of Discussion posts, so participants can correct spelling and grammar errors such as the one you can see above. Being able to edit the text of the post is a very nice thing too, thank you.)

Sounds very similar to this request, have you seen it? It's currently at the top of the list so likely we'll start developing that for Build 34. Maybe some of your ideas can flow into this.

Thanks. No, I had not seen it, but Dr. Koch offers an interesting solution.
However, he discusses convergence point detection as a method of terminating generation processes.

I have literally run evolver overnight +, checking it and recording progress to see if I have "reached a point of diminished or flattened progression. And, just when I believe I had, Evolver opens the gates again.

So, I deal with this by running for X generations, since this works for my use.

Users won't be allowed to edit the topic title. No need to worry: our team is on it. It's a routine everyday task because most topic titles require fixing various errors and summarizing the gist of them.

But I'd appreciate if you wouldn't let a topic title continue in the message itself with "..." like it was in this or other posts. Thx.
