Hi,

I just built a simple rsi14 strategy and tried to test it on Brazilian stocks from the major Brazilian index (Bovespa) but when I hit the run backtest button it keeps telling me : Need to Load Data + Could not load bakctest Data in this Scale/Range.

The stock was LREN3 but it didn't work for AAPL either.

What am I doing wrong?

Best regards,
Mathias

What scale and range were selected?

And which Historical Data Provider are you counting on for your data?
Is it checked in Data Manager > Historical Providers?

Also, probably you should be using LREN3.SA (but that doesn't explain AAPL).

Hi,

Thank you for your answer!

1/ I used a range between 2014 and 2024 and than, because it didn't worked, scaled down the range to 2020/2024 and 2023/2024. It never worked. Than I used ALL DATA and it didn't work.

2/ I chose as BENCHMARK BRAZIL- BOVESPA and it Telles me "Could not load Benchmark Data in this Scale/Range"

I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Could you build a strategy for me so I understand how to do it?

A simple one:

- buy LREN3.SA at market when RSI 14 < 40
- sell LREN3.SA at market when RSI > 70
- Backtest at least for 10 years

It looks like WL8 is not configured to get data for that benchmark symbol.

What is the symbol? Is it coming from Yahoo? Do you have the Yahoo Data Provider enabled (checked off) in the Data Manager, Historical Providers tab?

Try using SPY as a benchmark to get yourself going.

Generally, you should first just open a chart and try the symbols you plan to use in backtesting and as the benchmark. Make sure you can see the data for those symbols come up in the chart.

To use the Bovespa index as the benchmark, use the Yahoo! symbol: ^BVSP
... and make sure Yahoo! Finance is checked in Data Manager > Historical Providers.

Also, here's a list of symbols -

Ok.

Could you tell me how to include a building block indicating that SMA 200 should be > SMA 50 in order to look for RSI 14 < 40?

Best,

For a WL orientation and using blocks, see the WealthLab University playlist:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcYQ6caO-N5yiSXsCqbDoAHDIdxgFOEQ

For the SMA condition, just drag the Indicator Compare to Indicator condition and adjust the Indicators for SMA 50 and 200.

The RSI condition requires Indicator Compare to Value.

Drag both into a buy or sell block to "And" the conditions.

I don't get how to build a condition that says SMA 200 > SMA 50.
Is it in the "Indicator Compare do Indicator"?
