Please can you explain the plans to migrate community indicators from WL6 to WL7.
In particular, CMCSuperTrend.
Thank you.

The plan is to focus on the ones we percieved as most important, or requested by the user base. Additionally, the spirit of the "Community" indicators is that they would be written by users. As it turned out, according to Eugene he actually wrote most of them.

If this one is important we can certainly prioritize converting it!

Indeed, for me, the biggest loss moving from WL6 to WL7 was the big collection of indicators and strategies that were contributed over the years, including the great work done for TASC magazine (most of it by Eugene).

I understand that the team is small and looking at the change requests implemented lately, it’s just unfair to ask more! But we should not underestimate the value of having a nice collection of strategies for users like me who, because of not having enough time or skill or both, find it difficult to explore completely new ideas. A lot of those contributed strategies were not really working as they were, but they provided great ideas which, in combination or adapted, could be the base of some really nice traceable strategies.

I would even not mind paying for an extension that would contain the TASC strategies, for example.

The CMC SuperTrend indicator has been migrated long ago. It's part of the PowerPack extension now as "SuperTrend":

Thank you for your feedback. It's much appreciated. Wealth-Lab 7 is yet to have a way to download public strategies like before. Once it's ready it'd make good sense to translate a small selection of the most performing strategies from TASC magazine and upload them.

As for other (non-TASC) strategies, we decided to include only a handful of 'signature' sample strategies with Wealth-Lab 7 but surely can do more on demand. If a WL6 public strategy has value we could include with an extension like the PowerPack, Fundamentals, AdvancedSmoothers etc. depending on context.

If you have candidates for translation you might want to share them in a new topic, marking it with #WishList tag?

Thank you very much Eugene!

I will have a look at a few strategies from WL6 that I still use (and didn’t yet have the opportunity to try to translate myself).

Should I also create a change request to implement the mechanism to download public strategies? I guess It’s probably a big one since it would most likely involve coding at the site level.

Thank you again for the great work!

Hello Glitch & Eugene,
Thank you for your prompt responses.
It is very good news to hear that CMCSuperTrend and other useful indicators have been migrated, albeit as a cost option.
Eugene, can you please confirm that the WL7 version will work in exactly the same manner as it does in WL6?
From my perspective, WealthLab is potentially life-changing. It is an incredible tool for self-directed investing/trading. WL6.9 is perfectly adequate for my needs, having invested thousands of hours refining strategies over time. I suspect transferring to WL7 will be a painful process, but unless you can guarantee WL6.9 will work as now for the next few decades, I will need to go through that pain. I understand there are advantages—of particular interest are the dynamic indices. But, do you plan to create any additional reference material to help users migrate? To elaborate a little, it would be most useful to see side-by-side comparisons of code snippets in a significantly expanded version of the "Quick WL6.9 to WL7 Translation Guide". Or, perhaps, some YouTube videos focused on migration examples.
Thank you for your passion and dedication to helping people work towards realizing their dreams of financial independence.

David, in my limited testing during conversion period the SuperTrend indicator's readings matched those of WL6. Please don't hesitate to use your extended trial period as a WL6 customer (90 days vs 14 days). Since solution was found for the indicator in question, let's have a different discussion for your other questions please.

Yes Paulo, please feel free to submit one.

Thank you guys!
