I've been working on some buildingblock strategies in WL8 and saving them to My Strategies on wealth-lab.com, thinking I might sometimes work in the Web interface instead of WL8. I was quite surprised to open one up and find the backtest results quite at odds with what I was getting with WL8. WTF?

It didn't take much sleuthing to discover that the problem was disabled Condition blocks. In WL8 I can disable a block (usually I do this to test whether it's helpful or not), but after saving it to wealth-lab.com, the disabled blocks were present but NOT disabled when I view them on w-l.com; being enabled, the Condition blocks were deleterious to my strategy.

Could there be added to the web version a means of properly handling disabled blocks? Or is there a problematic consequence of that outcome that I can't visualize? Thanks for input.

We just have not implemented disabled Building Blocks on web backtest, it’s a stripped down experience and doesn’t offer the full capabilities. But I’ll add this to the backlog and try to get it implemented soon.

Thanks Glitch, understandable. In this case, it would seem to me relatively low-hanging fruit that just helps make things more comparable between WL8 and Web usage.

p.s. I am really enjoying working with WL8 this time around, after my lengthy gap period. Surprised how much I can get done with blocks before moving it over to C#. And that's without trying any of the advanced block available in the extensions. Well done all of you!

Well, you never know if it'll hold out, but I'm up $1700 after three days in my new strategy. So far so good.
