Hi

Is there an easy way to test multiple indicators in one script?

Eg test moving averages, DI+/-, MACD, KAMA etc in one script, to see which gives better results (for specific parameters)?

I can only think of one way - to have a variable 'x' numbered 1-5 for example, and if x=1 (for example) then use MACD buy and sell signals, if x=2 use EMA buy and sell signals etc. THEN run the optimiser from 1-5.

Are there any other ways?

Thanks.

Hi Rod,

This should get the job done.

As an alternative and if "one strategy" is not carved in stone, you could create multiple versions of your strategy (one clone per indicator) and use Tools > Strategy Ranking instead of the optimizer.

P.S. If the indicator's intended use is to filter, then Analysis Series is a flexible tool to gauge how a particular indicator correlates to the trade profitability:

Thanks for the fast response and additional ideas. The indicator won't be to filter, but I haven't used Analysis Series before so will learn about it anyway. The Strategy Ranking is a good idea.

You are always very responsive, year after year. I hope you never retire from this!

Thanks
