No Alert by R3 Strategy?

Eugene:

Most of the time when I run a search, any new signals are under alerts. When i run a list through the R3 strategy, the alert field remains at 0, yet when I look up trades, several are listed. Is there a way to have new trades show in the alert field? Thanks

Joe,

If there are trades, they have been taken before. If there are no alerts, the strategy has not produced any for the next bar, or your position sizing prevents from taking them.

I have a basic list of ETF's that I run. On September 25, there were no alerts yet nine buys show in the trade section. The same list had no alerts yesterday, yet ten trades show. Trades not taken because of insufficient capital is zero.

On a closer look, the strategy does not produce alerts by design - it's driven by AtClose(bar) orders. Please carefully re-read the WealthScript Programming Guide > Programming Trading Strategies > Alerts.
