Would it be possible to add an option in future releases that would notify us if a new release is available? Or even download it in the background like Windows Update? If I hadn't had a VM problem I wouldn't have seen the home page (I don't close down WL5 every night nor do I reboot unless needed). These types of options should probably have an off switch for obvious reasons.

There's a notification on the WLP home page (and probably ATP Alerts).

OK, but I was trying to make more work for the team to make sure you don't get laid off :P

I did happen to see the home page notification but it was by accident. Then again I'm probably not the typical user I'd guess most people shut down their PC every night.

One other note with WL 5.4 I found this morning -- if you have the AronowSoftware Walk Forward Optimizer installed you need to uninstall it (move the DLL out of the WL Pro folder) as apparently there's some sort of namespace collision and WL 5.4 won't load. I'll have to look into it but for now just move the DLL out of the folder.

Thanks for the info Dave. I didn't even know about the AronowSoftware Walk Forward Optimizer!

Dave, sorry to say but your WFO library didn't work for me since version 5.1 -- most likely, due to a breaking change in 5.1 (can't remember what it was exactly).

By the way, now that 5.4 has the Optimizer tool, I guess that WFO could be seamlessly integrated with the native tool by implementing one of the interfaces. Just my personal opinion, but of course, only when Fidelity pushes out the API docs.

By the time they push out the API docs we'll be on .net version 22 :P

P.S. I think the WFO library must have a hard reference to one of the WL DLLs that changed. When I get to it I'll see if I can change it to a dynamically loaded reference
