Hi guys,

I have just downloaded the WealthLab Trial and was wondering if there any any other tutorials on its basic use other than the 2 101 vids on youTube.

Also, is it possible to import a dataset into WealthLab if I already have one?

Many thanks

Hi Luke,

Give this a try:

FAQ: How do I get started learning Wealth-Lab?

Which type of data do you have?

Thanks very much - I will take a look

I basically have an excel spreadsheet of open, close, high and lows on a daily basis of vaurous instruments.

I also have some intraday data if that is importable.

Thanks

Excel files can be read directly using the Excel static data provider. However, since this is an extension (a customer-only option) and you're evaluating Wealth-Lab, there's one extra step you need to do. The data can be exported out of Excel into a CSV file and imported with the built-in ASCII provider. For more information, see the User Guide: Data > Data Manager > Create New DataSet > Data Providers > ASCII.

That is great. Works perfectly. I have a lot of data in an SQL database that I have updating automatically each day. Is it possible to have Wealthlab access that (to avoid me creating a new CSV file each day and them have WealthLab update from that).

Thanks

Sure it's possible. In the Extension Finder section, switch Category to "Provider". One of the extensions you'll find there is the Database provider which supports any popular RDBMS like MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, ODBC/OLEDB and more.
