Dear All,

as I am currently working on analysing monthly Investment plans I am missing the feature of having a monthly cash transfer incrementing the capital instead of working with a fixed starting capital.
As an example I want to have a fixed cash increase (i.e. 1000$ per month) and than having a strategy for buying Shares based on the available capital.
Some Input on this is highly appreciated as the performance measures are not really applicable to my models.

Kind regards

Hi Sven,

If something can't be done, then deposit or withdrawal are best candidates. Although the effect of withdrawal can be roughly estimated with the Withdrawal PosSizer, deposit probably is not.

Hi Eugene,

thanks for your quick reply.
Programming an own PosSizer was also an idea I had (but it seems that it is not possible to influence the portfolio equity this way).
An other idea was having Kind of synthetic Symbol with a fixed Profit adjusted to the monthly deposit, but this would mess up the perfromance metrics.
Maybe you have an idea if there is a way to directly influence the portfolio equity?

Kind regards

There is an idea: build a custom fundamental provider.

With the advent of the new "Transfer fundamental provider" to MS123 Extra Fundamental providers, it becomes pretty easy to backtest the effect of deposits and/or withdrawals on the account. The Withdrawal PosSizer becomes legacy solution. A detailed walkthrough is available in the Wiki:
