Hi everyone,

I am new to WL Neuro -Lab and I would like to know if this problem can be solved by using this software (before purchasing it):

I would like to predict the price of stock XYZ based on historical prices for oil and gold.

Can I do that with Neuro-Lab?

Are there published examples (besides the 3 already given)?

Thanks.

Neuro-Lab doesn't predict prices. It creates indicators that are trained to generate a range of outputs based on a given input, or "observations". Generally you're interested in gain after X number of bars, and using the Performance evaluation, you can correlate that output to find the indicator range that maximizes the gain.

For much more insight about Neuro-Lab, I encourage you to go to the old wl4.com site, go to brucev's profile and click the link to "View the Discussion Topics that this member has participated in". Read all you can.

Hi Sam12,

Cone is spot on!

Neuro-Lab doesn't predict things, it is better to think about it "correlating" things... The old discussions Cone directed you to will be helpful. You might also want to check out this paper: http://epublications.bond.edu.au/infotech_pubs/21/ which explains some of the development issues for neural networks in a bit more detail.

Cheers,

Thanks for your responses. I will definitely take a look at the website but my wish was to build on some pre-built NN systems with WL code for input and output scripts.
