For the pre-programmed strategies (preset ones) that were shipped with the software, I accidentally clicked the button "Convert to code-based strategy", by mistake. How could I go back to the wizard version for the pre-programmed strategies.

What I wanted was to borrow one of the pre-programmed strategies' code, and modify it to create my own new strategy, use the code editor.

I tried to uninstall the software, then re-installed it (without reboot). But the pre-programmed strategies were still in code-based mode.

Please help. Thanks a lot.

I'm not sure if there are (or have been) any Rule-based strategies to ship with Wealth-Lab. In fact, in my WLD (Developer) installation there isn't any single preset strategy that has a non-empty <Rules> tag (which differentiates rule-based strategies from code-based). Unless WLP really ships with a couple of rule-based strategies (and I'm really not sure you're right), they should've been reinstalled.

Try to shut down WLP and "Repair" your installation from the Windows Control Panel. If that doesn't return what you expect to find, try removing these strategies and re-do a "Repair":

The wizard still doesn't work in my WLP. For example, if I open a new strategy, I can not drag and drop any rules to the right panel. The mouse became a disable or stop sign and prevented me to drag and drop anything. ...

I even uninstalled WLP and deleted all the folders and files in that .../roaming/fidelity investments/ folder, then reinstalled WLP from the same installer I downloaded last month. Still, the wizard doesn't work at all.

Not sure about "still" as last time you were around (last week) the wizard worked, as you clicked the Convert button.

Since you're the first to ever report something like this ("a disable or stop sign and prevented me to drag and drop anything"), the problem lies in your software configuration. Before there's a fix, the reason has to be determined. Show me some full-size screenshots to illustrate how your WLP looks. Or a video would be better to understand that moment in dynamics. tia.

I called Fidelity support line, They said my status was somehow changed from "enrolled" user to "new" user for unknown reason. After they switched me back to "enrolled" user, my wizard worked fine for newly created strategies. So that was the reason.

As to the questions "Previously (last month), all the existing pre-programmed strategies used to be able to be displayed in graphical view as the rule wizard mode on my PC, but now they can only be displayed as code-based view in editor", Fidelity showed me that almost all those pre- shipped strategies were created as code-based version (there is a little notepad flag in front of each strategy), and there is only one strategy was created using the rule-based wizard, the four day breakout (there is a little wizard flag in front of it) which can be displayed in the rule-based wizard view. So as a result, I give up the effort trying to get back to where I was last month (which could be due to something wrong with my initial setup). If these rules were created as code-based, then they will be displayed as code based. That's it. What I saw last month was properly something not right.

That's what I was trying to suggest in post #2. On a related note, Wealth-Lab Developer installation does not contain any canned strategies created with Rules.
