The following question is transferred from this post:

My question:
QUOTE:
3. How do I use the image button in the toolbar above in this editor? I cannot figure out how to get an image inline in this post.

Response from Eugene:
QUOTE:
3 - Just like on every other board in the world, simply paste the image URL (like http://...) inside the IMG tag. The image should be uploaded somewhere (e.g. image hoster) and be publicly available (i.e. no private links visible to you only). However, the preferred way is to click "Add Attachment(s)" before posting - unless we're talking about linking to an image made already available by a 3rd party.

What I meant to ask is how do I use the image button/tag if I want to paste a screenshot inline with text in the post. I think the majority of my uploads will be screenshots or something local, not something that is already uploaded at a http link somewhere else.

What I just noticed is that if I save the file as .jpg, the image automatically shows inline in the post. The last time I uploaded a .png and it was not auto shown inline. So from now on, I'll be sure to upload a .jpg.

This is a misconception, nothing shows inline automatically here. It was yours truly who edited your post, inserting the URLs of your attachments into a pair of [ IMG] [ /IMG] tags. ;) Sorry for the confusion.

P.S. You should really stick with PNG as JPG is truly suboptimal for screenshots. If you haven't seen this famous comics, it's perfect time :)

I had a funny feeling that post was edited. :)

I have to hope my posts with screenshots get edited such that images are placed inline. Otherwise, my screenshots would have to be downloaded. :|

Thank you for the help.
