What I basically want to do is go long on a positive cross over and short on a negative cross over set to a weekly MACD at 15,20,5 setting. This is what I did & since this is my first try can anyone tell me what I did right or WRONG, thanks!

However, MACD parameters in Wealth-Lab are fixed at the original numbers 12,26. There are two solutions; for more details, see it answered in WL5 Wiki FAQ:
How do I create MACD indicator with custom parameters?

I tried to use the Community Indicators. 1st downloaded them & unzipped them. Next I saved them to Program Files\Fidelity Investments\Wealth-Lab Pro 5. Then I started up Wealth Lab & I was expecting when I selected "MACD Crosses below signal line" the Parameters(change rule parameters below) would facilitate the use of the 15,20,5 setting that I was looking for.

Did I install the program wrong or am I misunderstanding how it is to be used??

Or would the best approach be to just change the code to reflect the MACD that I am looking for??

Thanks

An indicator library doesn't affect the Rule Wizard per se - that's the WealthLab.Rules.dll prerogative.

To use any custom indicator in a rule-based strategy, you simply need to select a condition under "General Indicators" and then pick an indicator (i.e. MACDEx) from the dialog box. Notice the label that says "Click here to select an indicator".
