Is there a way to have a default font color for chart annotation? For example not having to change the font from black to a lighter color so you can view it on a black background. Thanks!

Confirmed. Interestingly, the selected custom font is actually saved in the config file but once you re-use the Notes tool, it gets reset to default. On the other hand, the Callouts tool doesn't suffer from memory loss. I'll submit a deficiency report.
