hi, i went to download page, and the only option to proceed is with a fidelity account. if that indeed is the case, would be helpful to state that on your main page bc i signed up to download the software and then this happened.

the reason why I'm downloading is this: and i'm curious if anyone can validate the functionality of this software before I move any further:

I trade with TD ameritrade, their platform thinkorswim is way behind current times. I have no idea why they use that platform, it's terrible. I have two years worth of trade executions that I want to analyze so that I can improve my trading. In particular, i'm interested in: MAE, MFE, duration of the trade, winning trade statistics (entry hour/exit hour), and different position sizing strategies to see if I can reduce drawdowns.

data Thinkorswim provides: entry date and time, exit date and time, size of the trade, long/short. thats it.

will I be able to perform the above using the TOS data? If I give wealth lab, and entry/exit price, time for entry and exit, will it be able to compare those entries to find min/max prices between those time. what's the data source? can minute/tick data be plugged into wealth lab?

Thanks

Hi,

You can evaluate Wealth-Lab Pro free for 30 days from that Fidelity download page where you landed.

What you're looking for is a popular request. WLP customers can perform the analysis of trade executions with this solution: Import real (historical) trades. Sorry but as most of the Wealth-Lab Extensions it's 'premium content' not accessible to the free trial users and could be installed if you had a qualified Fidelity account.

I'm not aware which format the TOS price data comes in but if it allows itself to be exported to CSV/ASCII files (for example) then it could be imported into Wealth-Lab. For sure, minute/tick data can be plugged in - if it's so specific that it couldn't be found in the Fidelity static data subscription.

Thanks Eugene.

Am I able to purchase the full version without opening a fidelity account?

Data that I have is in text file and I've also added it to excel so I'm sure i shouldn't have any issues feeding that data into your software. I'm more concerned if the functionality of this software will allow me to perform those analysis I mentioned, but as you stated it shouldn't be a problem for this software as long as I have the plugin.

Sorry, WLP is not for purchase. Please refer to this FAQ: What's the difference between Wealth-Lab Developer and Wealth-Lab Pro Version 6?

As long as your platform is able to export the trade executions log into a CSV/ASCII file that conforms to one of the formats supported, it should be okay:

Format #1:
Long;AAPL;12-05-2009;124;26-05-2009;130.4

Format #2:
AAPL;12-05-2009;Buy;124
AAPL;26-05-2009;Sell;130.4
