Hello! in a Paper Account I have 3 buy trades, 1 short and 1 sell and they are not triggering - I've placed the same way I've done it for the last 3 months I've been using WealthLab but for some reason these guys are their waiting in the Order panel saying "Active" but not executing - they are all normal Market orders - I do have Buying Power. I'm connected to the internet... any tips? I searched for some other posts or Wiki entries but couldn't find a workaround.

thank you!

What are the order types? (Limit, Stop, or Market)

It's really a matter of the provider polling for snapshot quotes and crossing the orders. If you're logged in and WLP isn't being blocked by a firewall, then it's hard to say what the problem would be.

•Wealth-Lab Version 6.0
•Computer Description: Windows 7
•Position Sizing Control and Data Loading Control settings (refer to image)- I'm not running a strategy so this doesn't apply.
•Options (F12), especially from the Trading Costs/Control group. - Default options - I've haven't tweaked these parameter.
•Symbol(s)- AAPL, CPWM, ASYS, COH, PCLN
•Data provider or real-time data feed - Fidelity

All orders are Market orders... it's strange because I have been doing the same for 3 months and 3 weeks here in the same location... I wonder.

It looks like there's a good chance it's related to the wrongly-identified holiday identified in the Markets.xml file. Do this to remove it:

1. Close WLP

2. Find and open the Markets.xml file in a text editor. It's in the WLP installation's \Data folder.. For example: C:\Program Files\Fidelity Investments\Wealth-Lab Pro 6\Data

3. Delete this entry:
<dateTime>2011-01-03T00:00:00</dateTime>

4. Save, close, restart WLP.

Hello. Since the last post indicates the provider is Fidelity I thought I would add something happening (or not happening) with me today (also Fidelity).

The ghost bar on a streaming chart doesn't seem to be displaying data for the period (price and volume) until new data arrives.

For example, opening a new daily chart window at 9:30 MT and selecting a symbol only shows activity starting at 9:30 (not 7:30 with market open). I use PartialValue in some of my strategies to project future volume and it's not giving me correct volume for the day.

This probably belongs in a separate post but wanted to throw it in just in case it rings a bell with someone.

It's probably related to the new year. BTW, Fidelty ATP is showing correct candles and volume.

It must be part of the same cause.

FYI. Deleting that date did not change the ghost bar issue. I'm working around it and do not mean to distract you from lepetittrader's issue. Thanks.

Did you restart after editing the file?

I've just completed "2 cycles" - twice with the bad holiday and twice without. Both times when today's date was a "holiday", the ghost bar was not being initialized properly, it appeared.

Also, make sure that you're editing the right Market.xml file... it's the one in the WLP installation's Data folder, not the one in the user Data folder.

Hello!

I tried what you recommended Cone but trades are still not going through - I also tried restarting my PC but still doesn't work. I noticed the same as lmw6003 where when rendering say an AAPL chart, the last day rendered is 12/31 - almost feels as if some data wasn't streaming or something... If I go to Accounts however and take a look at my current positions with Streaming on - they do seem to update realtime... so not sure what's going with Orders and Charts...

Yes. This may just be happening on daily charts. I'm comparing candles now between WLP and Active Trader Pro now and will let you know what I see.

I'll double check the file locations but think I got it correct.

I don't know what to tell you then.. It's very deterministic on my system that that date influences paper trading and the ghost bar initialization.

Duh. Edited the correct one (in Program Files....) and it solved the ghost bar issue. Thanks

oh! me too :) - it worked! (though now I'm losing paper money as it didn't buy on the open) -

Is there a way to "force" or edit the cost basis in Paper money accounts?

Thank you both for your help!
