After the upgrade to WLP 6.2 the Status Bar will periodically display the message:

“Streaming Update conflict with Strategy Run”

When this happens one or more of the strategy windows will not run. The chart will display the candles but the code does not execute. I have to either hit the Editor tab then the “Run the Strategy” button or Stop then Start the streaming with the Strategy window Stream button. I also have strategies running in the Strategy Monitor but I have not noticed if they run or not when this happens.

Earlier Versions did not have this problem so my guess is that this has to do with the last candle being drawn when the time interval is completed rather than waiting for the first tick of the next candle.

Has anyone else had this happen?

You are not alone. Yes, I'm also having the similar problem and reported it on the other thread a month ago shortly after WLP 6.2 was released. (ThreadAbortException issue on WLP 6.2)
I have opened a support ticket and working with Robert.

Apparently there is an issue in the way how the new bar is handled when the strategy is executing.

In most cases, I see either ThreadAbortException in my exception handler or "Thread was being aborted." dialog then “Streaming Update conflict with Strategy Run” message appears on the status bar. Sometime the strategy just doesn't run without any sign of failure just like you.

So far the only solution is to drop back to WLP 6.1 and hope it will be fixed before next mandatory upgrade is released.

I suggest you to open a support ticket with the details.

Hi Cone & Eugene,
I'm running 15, 5 and 1 minute streaming charts. When a new bar updates often the chart redraws only the price and volume bars. To see the chart full chart with moving averages and indicators, I have to click on Editor and then “Run the Strategy.”

The dialog “Streaming Update conflict with Strategy Run” message appears on the status bar.

This is on the 64bit Version 6.2

This is a very frustrating error. Continually dropping into the editor and hitting run strategy is a real mickey mouse solution. Any plans on fixing this within a reasonable time frame?

Yes there is a plan: a 6.2 patch release has been in the works.

Just a couple notes:

1. It's not necessary to run the strategy from the editor. You can hit "Go" or F5 too.
2. The strategy will run anyway when the next bar comes in, so you don't really have to "Go" or F5 unless you think there's a chance the strategy would have created an Alert.

The fixes are in and are being tested. Look for an update about on the 19th (latest word).

Latest ETA for the update?

If it weren't for a problem in QA, it would have been last Wednesday! I think next week now.

F5 key is getting a bit worn out.

Tell me about it. The build is ready, they just have to find an "install date" now. Don't hit F5 after posting, but if someone brings this up again next week, I'll probably know the date by then (which could conceivably be next week).
